Dan Boren was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 2, 1973.

Boren is the son of David and Molly Boren, and John and the late Janna Robbins. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Economics, then went on to earn an M.B.A. in International Business at the University of Oklahoma. He also studied at Yale and Oxford universities.
