U.S. Senate Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, December 6, 1948. Nickles graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Business Administration degree. In 1977, he won his first elective office: State Senator for District 20. He served in the National Guard from 1970 until 1976, and was elected to the U.S. Senate November 4, 1980. In 1998, he became the first Oklahoma Republican ever elected to a fourth term in the U.S. Senate. He and his wife, Linda, have four children. |
