Assistant Senate Majority Leader U.S. Senate Born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, December 6, 1948. Nickles graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Business Administration degree. In 1977, he won his first elective office: State Senator for District 20. He served in the National Guard from 1970 until 1976, and was elected to the U.S. Senate November 4, 1980. Nickles is the Assistant Majority Leader, the highest leadership position ever held by an Oklahoma senator. He and his wife, Linda, have four children. |
