The only official legislative history for Oklahoma legislative measures is a procedural one. Official legislative intent is rare. Committee reports, minutes, and hearings are not published. The following sources provide some information about Oklahoma legislation.
Bill Files
The official bill files contain every form of a bill from its introduction to final action. Since 1989, the respective chambers of the Legislature have kept these and current bill files.

Journals of the House and Senate
The journals record the activities of each legislative day and include such information as bill authors, committee assignments, and the record of votes on each bill considered, but exclude the floor debates.
The bound journals are indexed by subject, bill number, and author and are available at
ODL's Cartwright Memorial Library located in Room B-8 of the State Capitol.
Audio Tapes
The Senate has audio taped its floor debates since 1971, and now offers Podcasts. The
Archives Division of the Department of Libraries has
tapes for the period of 1971-1986, with the Senate holding recordings from 1987
to the present.
The House does not record its proceedings.
Bill
Authors
The author(s) of a bill may be able to provide unofficial information about a bill.
The most recent information on how to contact Senators and Representatives can
be found at the Oklahoma Senate and Oklahoma House of Representatives websites.
Newspapers
Unofficial information about a bill may appear in one of the state newspapers, but
those issues may not be indexed.
