About our Illustrator and DesignerNatural history and wildlife artist Karen Carr originally created the painting that appears on the Almanac cover. Carr is considered one of the best new paleo-artists. The fourth-generation Texan is currently working on a variety of projects for museums and other facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Some of Carr's other Almanac illustrations may be viewed below. To find out how she creates her images, visit Carr's website . Graphic design is by Stroud Design, Inc. of Oklahoma City. Since 1983, the company has provided advertising and sales materials, corporate literature, and packaging design to regional and national clients. For the cover, the company combined Carr's art with graphic representations of petroglyphs found in Oklahoma's Kenton Cave. President Felton Stroud served as art director on the almanac, with design and production executed by Jeff Hester and Chris Street.
